It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! It’s… Nicolas Cage’s New Baby Boy? October 3, 2005

Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage is a very interesting person. He’s been married to Elvis’ daughter and to Medium star Patricia Arquette. He then fell in love with (and subsequently married) a 20-year-old diner waitress from L.A. named Alice. He’s the nephew of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppala. And now, as of October 3rd, 2005, he’s the father of Superman.

Yes, you heard me: Superman. Alice and Nick named their newborn son Kal-el, after the Kryptonese Man of Steel himself. Either that’s really, really cool, or really really crazy. Probably a bit of both.

Naming kids after comicbook superheroes didn’t even make my 10 Ideas In Ten Minutes™ post about future celebrity baby names…

Now they have to watch out for a baby named Lex at playgroup…
